08-31-2017 Updated child age-band rating and counting method

Currently, the ACA provides for uniform age bands, including a single age band for individuals age 0-20. Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, in an effort to more accurately reflect health care costs for children, there is a change in the Federal Standard age-rating structure that Michigan will follow for small group members.

News Release: In a continued effort to address the Social Determinants of Health and health equity in Southeast Michigan, the Priority Health Total Health Foundation awarded $667,500 to seven nonprofits working to eliminate childhood hunger, strengthen families with small children and remove technological barriers and other factors that impact the livelihood of those living and working in and around Detroit.
